每年5月8日为世界红十字与红新月日，“5·8人道公益日”互联网筹资活动是全国红十字系统在总会党组的坚强领导下，深入贯彻落实习近平总书记关于红十字事业重要指示批示精神，促进全国红十字系统数字化转型和推动中国红十字事业高质量发展的鲜活实践。
“5·8人道公益日”弘扬“人道、博爱、奉献”的红十字精神，面向社会倡导“人人皆可参与”的公益理念，凝聚力量、传递爱心，讲好红十字故事，传播红十字精神，以人道的力量温暖世界。
